In June this year, passenger capacity, measured by available seat kilometers (ASK), decreased 3.89% YoY, while passenger traffic, measured by revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), declined 3.36% YoY. Passenger load factor was 86.61%, up 0.47 ppts from the same period last year. Cargo and mail traffic, measured by cargo and mail tonne-kilometers, increased 4.69% YoY. Passenger volume fell 8.13% YoY.

In the domestic market, the group launched new routes including Shanghai Hongqiao to Yining, resumed routes including Shenyang to Ningbo, and increased flight frequencies on multiple routes including Shanghai Hongqiao to Yinchuan, Guiyang and Sanya, as well as Shanghai Pudong to Jinan and Urumqi.

In the international and regional markets, the group launched new routes including Shanghai Pudong to Zurich and Adelaide, resumed routes including Shanghai Pudong to Stockholm, Ordos to Cheongju and Nanjing to Singapore, and increased flight frequencies on routes including Shanghai Pudong to Frankfurt, Geneva and Singapore, as well as Xi'an to Singapore.

Regarding its fleet, the company introduced nine aircraft in June, including seven A320 series aircraft, one B787 series aircraft and one C919 aircraft, while retiring three A320 series aircraft. As of the end of June, the company operated a total of 833 aircraft, including 114 wide-body passenger aircraft, 687 narrow-body passenger aircraft and 32 regional aircraft.
