China and Russia develop mathematical models to control satellite constellations
A Sino-Russian research team composed of Samara University in Russia and Northwestern Polytechnical University in China has developed a mathematical model to effectively control a satellite constellation connected by ropes. This conceptual model aids in establishing a control system based on small thrusters for spacecraft, allowing the tether system's rotation plane to achieve large-angle rotations. Researchers stated, "The main advantage of the new model is that we can obtain the control laws for the electric thrusters in an analytical form, enabling the system to enter a rotating state and resist various disturbances. This will help us create a real space system more quickly."
