Huawei's latest handset uses improved China-made chip, report shows
Huawei's latest Mate 80 series handset is powered by the Kirin 9030 chip, manufactured by China's SMIC using an improved 7nm process. Despite advancements, it remains less advanced than TSMC and Samsung's 5nm processes. The chip uses SMIC's N+3 process, an extension of its previous 7nm node. TechInsights reported these findings, noting China's addition of TechInsights to its unreliable entity list in October.
