China Aluminum International Engineering Corporation Limited announced a planned change to its board, with non-executive director Liu Changkui intending to resign upon reaching retirement age but remaining in post until a successor is elected to ensure continuity. Liu will also step down from multiple board committees, and has stated he has no disagreements with the board and will complete an orderly handover in line with company rules.

The board has nominated Hu Jianbo, a senior engineer and experienced executive within Chinalco-affiliated entities, as a candidate for non-executive director for the fifth board session, subject to approval at a general meeting. Hu, who holds several directorships in related Chinalco companies and has no disclosed conflicts of interest or shareholdings in the company, will serve without remuneration as a non-executive and is expected to reinforce the group’s alignment with its parent’s strategic oversight once formally elected.
