The recovery of the equity market boosts sentiment, and the positive performance expectations of brokerages in the first half of the year catalyze the sector's market trend
This week, the brokerage sector continued to strengthen, becoming the main force driving the Shanghai Composite Index above 3,500 points. The Shenwan Securities Industry Index rose nearly 5% in a single week, with all 49 brokerage stocks showing gains. Bank of China Securities surged 23%, while Harbin Investment Group and Zhongyuan Securities rose over 10%. The half-year performance forecasts are the main catalyst for this round of brokerage market rally. On July 9, Hongta Securities fired the "first shot" of the brokerage half-year performance forecasts, with a net profit growth of over 45% year-on-year. Subsequently, Harbin Investment Group, Guosheng Financial Holdings, Guolian Minsheng, Huaxi Securities, and Guoxin Securities followed up with their forecasts, with the profit growth rate in the first half of the year generally exceeding 50%. Institutions believe that in the first half of the year, a series of supportive policies were deeply implemented, and the performance of A-shares and Hong Kong stocks showed a significant rebound, driving the recovery of brokerage businesses such as brokerage, proprietary trading, and investment banking. It is expected that the overall operating income of listed brokerages in the second quarter will increase by 10% year-on-year, and the net profit attributable to the parent company will increase by 20% year-on-year
