A-share city commercial banks' semi-annual report performance differentiation: corporate business becomes the key to victory or defeat
A-share listed banks are entering a concentrated disclosure period for the 2025 semi-annual reports. Currently, Bank of Jiangsu, Bank of Chengdu, Bank of Chongqing, and Guiyang Bank have released their semi-annual reports. Data shows that the performance of listed city commercial banks is showing divergence, with Bank of Jiangsu, Bank of Chengdu, and Bank of Chongqing maintaining steady growth, while Guiyang Bank's performance has declined. Corporate business has strongly driven the growth of net interest income, becoming an important engine for the performance growth of the aforementioned three banks. Specifically, on the income side, the expansion of corporate loan scale has driven the growth of interest income; on the expenditure side, thanks to effective reduction of corporate deposit costs, while the scale of deposits has expanded, interest expenses have decreased, further enlarging the profit margin for the banks.
