According to the Zhitong Finance APP, Perfect (603059.SH) announced that its holding subsidiary, Shan'enkang Biotechnology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shan'enkang"), has recently learned that its proprietary AKK PROBIO active probiotic (scientific name: Akkermansia muciniphila; hereinafter referred to as "AKK live bacteria") has been recognized by the U.S. GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) expert committee as a safe ingredient for use in traditional food and beverage products. This marks another milestone following the GRAS certification of AKK PROBIO inactivated bacteria in October 2024.

The AKK live bacteria received a Self-affirmed GRAS recognition, which was based on a rigorous evaluation of the scientific data, information, and research methods provided by Shan'enkang, conducted by experts from the GRAS expert committee hired by a partner of Shan'enkang. The experts unanimously concluded that AKK live bacteria is a safe food ingredient that can be used in traditional food or beverage products.

The recognition of Shan'enkang's proprietary AKK live bacteria and inactivated bacteria (hereinafter referred to as "AKK bacteria") by the U.S. GRAS expert committee signifies that the product's quality and safety have been acknowledged, allowing it to be exported to the U.S. and other international markets that recognize U.S. GRAS certification for sale as traditional food and beverage ingredients. This is expected to have a positive impact on Shan'enkang's performance. As of now, the revenue generated by AKK bacteria accounts for a small proportion of Shan'enkang's overall revenue, and investors are advised to pay attention to investment risks
