According to the announcement from Gansu Energy Chemical (000552.SZ), based on the national energy construction and development strategy, coal power industry policies, and the development plans of Gansu Province and Lanzhou New Area, in order to further implement the provincial party committee and government’s decision to "strengthen the province and the city," improve resource utilization efficiency, optimize the company's industrial layout, and strengthen the coal power main business, the company plans to invest in the construction of a 2×1000MW thermal power project in Lanzhou New Area.

The project plans to build 2×1000MW high-efficiency ultra-supercritical coal-fired air-cooled generating units, with one unit per tower, simultaneously constructing desulfurization and denitrification facilities, supporting the construction of a 750kV distribution device, a dedicated coal transport railway line, an ash yard, and distributed rooftop photovoltaics, with a designed annual power generation of 9 billion kilowatt-hours and an annual coal consumption of 4.46 million tons. The project's static investment is 7.961 billion yuan, and the dynamic investment is 8.284 billion yuan.
