Research and development expenses rose 58.9% to $18m (US$14.1m), on the back of higher intellectual property and technology spending, and increased contractor, compensation, and stock-based compensation costs.
Selling, general and administrative expenses climbed 39.4% to $12.7m (US$9.9m), reflecting higher stock-based and variable compensation, sales commissions, and costs associated with operating as a public company.
Ambiq’s operating loss narrowed slightly to $11.1m (US$8.7m) from $11.3m (US$8.8m).
Other income increased to $2m (US$1.6m) from $403,200 (US$315,000), mainly due to higher interest income earned on cash raised through its initial public offering and subsequent follow-on offerings.
