The partnership started with AMD Instinct MI300X GPUs and grew through MI355X, as both teams worked to improve large-scale systems. Now, AMD Helios combines Instinct MI455X GPUs with 6th Gen AMD EPYC Venice CPUs to support large AI workloads. The Helios rollout will be the first phase of the 6-gigawatt AMD GPU deployment announced in 2025.
"AMD and OpenAI are aligning their roadmaps so future infrastructure is shaped by the workloads it will serve," the companies said. OpenAI provides insight into future model needs, while AMD turns that feedback into new silicon, systems, and software. This approach has helped shape AMD's Instinct MI400 generation and future MI500 products.
