Zig by ComfortDelGro is investing over $10m in its private hire vehicle fleet with new electric and hybrid vehicles supplied by Vantage Automotive.
The fleet will include BYD models such as the fully electric BYD M6 and the BYD SEAL 6 DM-i hybrid.
The group said the vehicles will be progressively added to its private hire fleet and made available to hirers in the coming months.
Hirers will also receive preferential charging rates through CDG Energy, as well as maintenance support from ComfortDelGro Engineering’s automotive workshop network.
The investment comes amidst stronger demand for private hire vehicles (PHV), said Michael Huang, head of Singapore Point-to-Point Mobility Business.
“Investing in our PHV fleet gives hirers more options and strengthens our ability to support mobility demand across Singapore,” Huang added.
