Continental agrees to sell ContiTech for $4.6B to become a pure-play tiremaker
Continental announced plans to sell its ContiTech unit to Lone Star Funds for $4.6 billion, including potential performance payments, to become a pure-play tiremaker. The transaction is expected to close by year-end and generate €3.1 billion in cash flow. Proceeds will improve capital structure and fund a €2.5 billion special dividend or buyback. This divestment follows the spin-off of Aumovio, marking the final step in Continental's strategic realignment.
