2-Year Treasury Yield Rises More Than 7 Basis Points as Investors Watch for Potential U.S.-Iran Talks

In late New York trading on Tuesday (April 21), the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rose 5.55 basis points, reaching a daily high of 4.3104%. On the day Federal Reserve Chair nominee Kevin Warsh appeared before the U.S. Senate for his nomination qualification hearing, investors placed greater emphasis on whether renewed U.S.-Iran talks mentioned by Trump would materialize.

The 2-year Treasury yield rose 7.55 basis points, hitting a daily high of 3.8002%; the 30-year Treasury yield rose more than 2.75 basis points again, to above 4.91%.

The spread between the 2-year and 10-year Treasury yields narrowed by 1.693 basis points, standing at +50.613 basis points.

The 10-year TIPS yield rose 2.57 basis points to 1.92%; the 2-year TIPS yield increased by 3.26 basis points to 0.91%; and the 30-year TIPS yield rose 1.31 basis points to 2.6727%.
