LBBW Analyst Says Fed Vote Count May Draw Attention Ahead of Wednesday Decision
LBBW senior fixed income analyst Elmar Voelker said in a report that investors may focus on the number of potential dissenting votes in the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision on Wednesday. According to Odaily, he said there could be as many as three dissents, noting that a similar-sized group voted against the Fed's then-looser forward guidance in April. Voelker said that if the Fed unanimously adopts a wait-and-see monetary policy stance, it would be a surprise that favors the bond market, as it would challenge the market's current broad expectation that a September rate hike is nearly certain.
