Mountain Valley Pipeline permits remain intact during challenge, appeals court rules
The U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals denied environmental groups' motions to stay water quality certifications for the Mountain Valley Pipeline's Southgate project, ruling they failed to show likely success on the merits. While acknowledging 46 construction violations, the court accepted state-mandated monitoring as sufficient risk offset. The 31-mile extension is owned by EQT Corp., NextEra Energy, AltaGas, and RGC Resources.
