REGENXBIO Presents Positive Long-Term Data for Surabgene Lomparvovec in Wet AMD and Diabetic Retinopathy at American Society of Retina Specialists Annual Meeting
A recent gene therapy treatment named sura-vec has shown lasting effectiveness in patients with wet AMD. The treatment, given only once, has maintained or even improved vision for up to 5 years in patients who previously needed frequent anti-VEGF injections. The doses used in the treatment were comparable to those being tested in current advanced studies. The results suggest promising long-term benefits for patients with wet AMD.
