According to the head of the "Texas Refinery" project development company, the new refinery in Texas praised by President Trump is expected to start selling fuel as early as three years from now. John Calce, co-CEO of America First Refining, stated that the facility located in Brownsville is expected to break ground in the second quarter. Some large processing units for the project are expected to arrive on site and complete mechanical completion by 2028, with fuel sales beginning the following year (2029). The Brownsville project has been in development for many years and will utilize U.S. shale oil for production. The refinery's products will primarily be sold to the U.S. Gulf Coast market and may also be exported to Latin America. (Bloomberg)
