LNG Canada offers First Nations option to invest up to C$1B in phase 2 project
LNG Canada, led by Shell, has granted five First Nations an equity option to invest up to C$1B in the project's Phase 2 expansion. The indigenous groups can acquire majority ownership of a special purpose vehicle holding a major storage tank in British Columbia, which will then be leased back to LNG Canada. This deal precedes a potential final investment decision for the expansion by year-end.
