LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Meta and Shopify announced a partnership to integrate AI-powered shopping and checkout via Meta’s Muse agent. This collaboration allows users to shop across Shopify stores and complete purchases using Shop Pay. Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the deal as part of broader efforts to enhance user experience, while analysts noted it reinforces Shopify's infrastructure strength amidst AI developments.

Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META) and Shopify Inc. (NASDAQ:SHOP) are teaming up to bring AI-powered shopping and checkout to Meta’s Muse personal AI agent.

Meta Muse Partners With Shopify For AI Shopping

Meta’s Muse will integrate with Shopify’s e-commerce infrastructure, allowing the AI assistant to help users shop across stores powered by Shopify and complete purchases through Shop Pay, the company’s accelerated checkout service.

Shop Pay lets customers save payment and shipping details for faster checkout.

Shopify CEO Tobias Lütke also shared the development on X, describing it as an effort to create an "easy and delightful way to shop and check out with Muse."

Meta’s Muse Moves Toward Autonomous Shopping

Meta introduced Muse earlier this month as a personal AI agent that can handle tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing finances and assisting with shopping.

Meta Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang said the Shopify partnership will give Muse users access to a broader selection of stores and products.

"We want to give our musers access to a wide range of stores to find the absolute perfect products," Wang said.

Wang also addressed confusion surrounding Muse by sharing an image of the AI assistant’s mascot and directing users to the Muse app for more information.

well first you're going to need to learn about this lil guy

then you're gonna have to catch up on the multi-year history of shopify vs amazon

then just gotta download the app! https://t.co/oGzBjKtAyn https://t.co/3IMYwlORzp pic.twitter.com/yInyOOe80s

Why Shopify Matters to AI Agents

In a note, Deutsche Bank analysts said the partnership offers further evidence that major AI platforms are adopting Shopify’s commerce infrastructure, the Wall Street Journal reported.

This could ease investor concerns that AI agents and virtual shopping assistants could disrupt its business.

The analysts said the deal instead highlights Shopify’s core strengths, including structured product data through Shopify Catalog, access to merchants, Shop Pay’s checkout capabilities and the infrastructure needed to process orders.

Price Action: Meta shares closed at $741.24 on Monday, up 11.43%. The shares traded at $740 in after-hours trading, down 0.17%. Shopify shares closed at $137.92 during regular hours, up 7.33% and rose another 0.70% to $138.88 in after-hours trading, according to Benzinga Pro.

According to Benzinga Edge Stock Rankings, Meta ranks in the 79th percentile for Growth, with its stock showing positive short-, medium- and long-term price trends.
