Freddie Mac reports the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose slightly to 6.49% for the week ended July 9, 2027, up from 6.43% but down from 6.72% a year ago. The 15-year rate averaged 5.82%. Despite stable rates, economic growth and housing affordability are improving for homebuyers.
