Ahead of its launch in February 2027, a total of 25 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have pledged their participation in the innovative league. The official name and logo of the national HBCU collegiate esports competition, named Power4+ HBCU Esports League, was recently unveiled by PlayVS and Urban One. This league aims to bring together HBCU students in a competitive esports environment, with the intention of fostering growth and opportunities within the gaming industry.
