The product is underwritten by Zurich Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad and distributed by MoneeInsure Agency Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
The insurance is offered in Basic and Comprehensive plans, with coverage of up to $72,000 (RM300,000).
It covers up to 14 critical and early-stage illnesses, including cancer, heart attack, stroke and kidney failure.
The Comprehensive plan also provides cover for selected early-stage illnesses of up to $36,000 (RM150,000), whilst both plans include options for second medical opinion support and monthly income support, depending on the plan selected.
The launch comes as many Malaysians continue to have limited financial buffers. According to the companies, six in 10 Malaysians have less than $240 (RM1,000) in emergency savings, highlighting the need for insurance products that are easier to access.
To encourage take-up, MoneeInsure is offering eligible customers the first month free on the Basic plan for purchases made during its promotional campaign.
