Nio had previously disclosed a figure of 10,286 units on Weibo, a minor difference of 2 units from the CPCA data. The rebound was driven by the 5-seat version. The variant was launched on July 9 and deliveries began the following day, unleashing previously pent-up demand. Cost pressures, however, are beginning to emerge. Founder, chairman and CEO William Li said on July 10 that rising raw-material prices had increased the cost of each ES8 by nearly 20,000 yuan. He said the company was working with supply-chain partners to offset some of the increase in an effort to keep prices stable.
