$Lion-phillip S-Reit(CLR.SG)
Context:
I was monitoring S-REITs and noticed that prices had declined from my previous entry levels. Since I still believed in the longer-term investment thesis for the sector, I saw the price weakness as an opportunity to gradually build my position rather than trying to time the market. My thinking was that averaging in at lower prices could potentially improve my overall entry price while allowing me to maintain exposure to the distribution income and longer-term recovery potential of S-REITs.
My trade:
I added to my S-REIT position because the recent price decline gave me an opportunity to DCA at a lower price. I did not want to deploy too much capital at once, so I added a manageable amount to increase my exposure while keeping some capital available for future opportunities. My main reason for adding was that I was still comfortable with the longer-term thesis and viewed the decline as an opportunity to accumulate rather than react to short-term price movements.
Takeaway:
Next time, I would set clearer DCA levels and position-size limits beforehand so that I can add systematically without letting short-term price declines influence my decisions too much.
