MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that establishes a standardized channel for transmitting contextual information between large language models (LLMs) and external tools or data sources. Think of MCP as the USB interface for AI applications—just as USB provides a standardized way to connect devices, MCP offers a standardized method for AI Agents to connect with various tools and data sources.
