Completed three rounds of financing in three months, with Renaissance Capital Management Fund leading the Series A funding for GIM

Beijing, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, June 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- AI-native intelligent investment company GIM (Grace Investment Machine) recently announced the completion of a Series A financing round worth tens of millions of US dollars. The round was co-led by B Capital, where Renaissance Technologies co-founder Howard Morgan is involved, and Jinyong Investment under Hony Capital, with follow-on investments from IDG Capital and existing shareholder Monolith Capital.

This marks the third round of financing completed by GIM within just a few months, following its angel and angel+ rounds led by 5Y Capital and SAIF Partners, since its establishment in July last year. After this round, GIM will continue to advance the synergistic development of its financial large language model, AI-driven investment research system, and asset management products, further expanding the application boundaries of AI in investment research, strategy development, and asset management.

GIM stated that as the competition in large models gradually shifts from general capabilities to professional scenarios, finance is becoming one of the few AI application areas that combine high value with high barriers. Unlike standardized tasks such as customer service, marketing, and office work, asset management deals with a complex system composed of numerical reasoning, time-series variations, risk constraints, and dynamic feedback. The AI that can truly enter this field cannot be just a tool for organizing materials or generating summaries; it needs stronger capabilities in financial modeling, research support, and continuous iteration.

Based on this assessment, GIM is currently advancing the construction of next-generation asset management infrastructure along two main lines: one is a vertical domain-specific large model for financial scenarios, and the other is an AI-driven investment research system built around the investment research workflow. The former primarily addresses issues of financial data comprehension, time-series modeling, and reasoning capabilities, while the latter aims to enhance the decomposition, collaboration, evaluation, and optimization capabilities of the research process.

On the model side, GIM is developing its own time-series large model for financial scenarios. The company believes that compared to general-purpose models, such systems require stronger numerical reasoning, time-series awareness, and modeling capabilities for multi-market, multi-frequency data to truly serve high-demand tasks like investment research and return prediction.

On the investment research system side, GIM is reconstructing the traditional investment research process through multi-agent collaboration. The company stated that its goal is not simply to have the model answer a few investment questions, but to enhance AI's capabilities in signal generation, research support, hypothesis revision, and workflow collaboration, gradually making it the underlying infrastructure supporting research and decision-making. GIM's core paper, CogAlpha, has been accepted at the main conference of the top NLP conference ACL 2026 and received an Oral recommendation.

From the background of the investors, this financing round also sends a clear signal. Howard Morgan is a co-founder of Renaissance Technologies. As one of the most representative institutions in the history of global quantitative investment, Renaissance has long been regarded as a key shaper of the modern quantitative investment paradigm. GIM believes that capital from this lineage choosing to invest in an AI-native intelligent investment company indicates that top-tier institutions are re-evaluating: when large models and AI systems enter asset management, the next-generation asset management platform may be redefined in ways different from traditional paths.

While technology continues to iterate, GIM's commercialization is also progressing. The company has established a private securities fund management entity in mainland China and is undergoing filing with the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC). Meanwhile, the company has reached strategic cooperation with leading financial institutions for in-depth collaboration around AI-driven investment strategies; the first batch of AI-driven asset management products have completed AMAC filing and are open for subscription. From self-developed models to product delivery, GIM has entered the practical stage of asset management.

GIM founder Xu Jiahao stated that if the first generation of asset management was primarily defined by subjective investors, and the second generation reshaped by quantitative institutions, then with the maturity of financial large models and AI-driven systems, the third generation of AI-native asset management platforms is beginning to emerge. What the company aims to promote is precisely the formation of this new generation of systems: it is not a local efficiency improvement to existing investment processes, but a systematic upgrade of the methods of research, judgment, execution, and iteration.
