# Huayou Cobalt surged during trading, and the Huaxia Rare Metals ETF (159053) rose 1.50% intraday.

As of 09:48 on the morning session of July 21, the rare metals sector showed active performance, with the Huaxia Rare Metals ETF (159053) rising 1.50% during trading. In terms of constituent stock performance, Huayou Cobey surged by 9.11%, Northern Rare Earth rose by 2.85%, and Ganfeng Lithium increased by 2.34%. Yancheng Shares, Tianqi Lithium, and others also followed suit in rising. (Individual stocks are cited as examples only and do not constitute recommendations.)

In news developments, Huayou Cobalt announced on July 20 that to fully safeguard corporate value and the rights and interests of all shareholders, and to enhance investor confidence, the company plans to repurchase shares worth between 600 million and 1 billion yuan, with a repurchase price not exceeding 50 yuan per share.

Multiple institutions are bullish on the long-term allocation value of the rare metals sector. China Securities believe that as strategic metals, rare metals possess supply rigidity and high geographical concentration, with their price centers and equity valuations undergoing systematic upward movement. Tungsten, germanium, gallium, and antimony, constrained by export controls and total mining volume limits, have seen significantly enhanced long-term allocation value amid the resonance of AI computing power and military demand.

Related ETFs: The Huaxia Rare Metals ETF (159053) closely tracks the CSI Rare Metals Theme Index, offering a one-click allocation to strategic metal assets such as rare earths, lithium, cobalt, and tungsten, providing a convenient tool for investors to layout in the strategic resources track. This ETF's management fee plus custody fee totals 0.20%, ranking among the lowest in the entire market.
