Reports indicate that China has begun mass production of its independently developed deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography machines, causing US chip stocks to plummet in response. NVIDIA shares fell by over 5%, while ASML and Micron dropped by 7%. SanDisk plunged even further by 12%. Earlier reports suggested that a Chinese state-owned enterprise had started mass-producing independently developed DUV chip manufacturing equipment, sparking concerns about China's push for semiconductor self-sufficiency. The S&P 500 index has now turned negative, erasing early gains, with selling pressure in the semiconductor sector dragging down the broader market.
