# Overseas Markets | Microsoft Sets Record for Single-Day Market Cap Increase, Spot Gold Rises for Two Consecutive Days

The three major US stock indices rose across the board overnight: the Dow Jones gained 1.19%, the S&P 500 rose 1.66%, and the Nasdaq climbed 2.78%; Microsoft's impressive earnings report led to a single-day surge of 15.51%, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose 8.19%, ending a five-day losing streak.

The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index rose 1.05%, with Alibaba up 1.12%, NetEase up 1.76%, and Pony.ai up 3.66%, as cloud and online education chains led the way.

London spot gold closed up 0.92% at $4,102.72, marking its second consecutive day of rebound; intervention by Japanese and Korean authorities pushed the US dollar index lower, providing support for precious metals priced in US dollars.

China International Capital Corporation (CICC) pointed out that private domestic final sales grew at an annualized rate of 3.9% in the second quarter, showing resilience in domestic demand, with growth momentum spreading from AI spending to industrial equipment and software R&D; during the earnings season, profit realization takes precedence over capital expenditure narratives, and under a preemptive rate hike 基调， the Nasdaq's rebound remains constrained by long-term yields.
