description: "$Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US)$SPDR S&P 500(SPY.US)The first week of a 10-year dollar-cost averaging plan.Purpose: Many people know about long-term dollar-cost averaging, but few actually execute it. I see some people trying hard to buy high and sell low every day 🤣, so I want to personally verify this through practice.1. If I start dollar-cost averaging at a peak in the US stock market, will I get stuck at the top?2. Can I really make money in the long run? Looking back at the past x years, it works, but past performance does not guarantee future results. Just because it made money before doesn't mean it will continue to do so. Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth.Strategy: Invest 4 times a month, weekly DCA on Fridays, $500 each time, split evenly between Nasdaq and S&P 500.I bought as soon as the market opened today.Principal: $500Market Value: $501.18Total Return: $1.18 (0.24%)"

- **做时间的朋友 520 · 2026-08-12T01:10:03.000Z**: The key is to hold on and not sell. Every time I sold after investing for a while because I thought the price was high, I ended up missing out when looking back six months or a year later. That said, if it were a situation like in 2000, that would be different.
- **APTAPT** (2026-08-12T02:14:23.000Z): Yes. My plan is to not time the market, only buy and never sell, to see how the results look over the past 10 years.
- **做时间的朋友 520** (2026-08-12T02:39:06.000Z): Sure, I used to sell whenever I was afraid of a drawdown, then wait for it to drop a bit before restarting my regular investment. In the end, I realized holding onto it all along yielded higher return
- **APTAPT** (2026-08-12T02:52:25.000Z): Updated weekly, everyone can see the results synchronously regardless of profit or loss 😂
