description: "For a limited time, Tesla has reintroduced its lifetime Supercharging transfers. If owners with unlimited lifetime Supercharging choose to take delivery of a new Model S, X, or Y by March 31, 2024, they can transfer the benefit to their new vehicle. This incentive aims to encourage owners to purchase new Tesla vehicles and enjoy the use of Superchargers without any additional cost. However, it's important to note that this charging benefit does not apply to home charging. In addition to the Supercharging transfers, Tesla has also made a one-time transfer option available for its Full Self-Driving beta software."

# For a limited duration, Tesla is reintroducing the option to transfer lifetime Supercharging benefits.

Tesla is once again allowing owners to transfer their free lifetime Supercharging offer, as long as they take delivery of a new vehicle within the next few months.

Owners with unlimited lifetime Supercharging can now transfer this perk to a new Model S, X, or Y if they take delivery by March 31, 2024. This offer has been available on and off over the years, with the most recent opportunity occurring last year. However, at that time, it was only available to those who took delivery of their Model S, X, or Y vehicles by December 31.

The ability to transfer the lifetime Supercharging benefit is seen as an incentive for owners to purchase new vehicles. This allows them to enjoy the benefits of free Supercharging on their new Tesla, instead of needing to rely on their old models to access this perk. Please note that this benefit is limited to Supercharger use and is not applicable to home charging, where owners would be billed at the regular rate set by their electricity provider.

In addition to offering free Supercharging transfers, Tesla also provided the option for a one-time vehicle transfer of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta software last year. However, unlike the Supercharging transfers, the FSD beta transfer option has only been offered once so far. Some customers have expressed interest in having this perk available again in the future.

It's important to mention that in 2017, Tesla placed caps on the free lifetime Supercharging offer. This means that owners can only use up to 400 kWh of Supercharger per year.

> Tesla now also offers limited-time transfers for free unlimited Supercharging in China. Feel free to share your thoughts with me by emailing zach@teslarati.com, connecting with me on X at @zacharyvisconti, or sending your tips to tips@teslarati.com.
