# Apple COO: Without the tremendous progress of Chinese manufacturing over the past 30 years, there would be no success for Apple

A factory in Dongguan, Guangdong, expressed admiration for the tremendous progress of Chinese manufacturing over the past 30 years during an interview with reporters. He told the reporters that as of 2023, out of the 187 suppliers that make up 98% of Apple's global supply chain expenditure, 157 have factories in China producing Apple products, with over seventy of them located in Guangdong. Williams stated that the thousands of components provided by Lingyi Smart Manufacturing can provide excellent technical support for Apple. While consumers see the technological changes in Apple products, they cannot see the details behind them. These supply chain partners work behind the scenes to provide technical support for the products, and "without them, there would be no success for us."
