# Telegram founder France arrested, Musk reacts strongly, Sun Yuchen continues to "ride the wave"

On Saturday night at 8 o'clock, Pavel Durov, the founder and CEO of Telegram, was arrested at Bourget Airport on the outskirts of Paris just after getting off a private plane.

The incident was triggered by French authorities accusing the Telegram platform of hosting a large number of illegal activities, such as drug trafficking, cyberbullying, and terrorism propaganda, with the platform failing to take effective measures for regulation. Reuters reported that a cyber security gendarmerie and the French National Anti-Fraud Police were leading the investigation.

It was reported that the French police were well prepared for Durov's actions, having obtained his flight information in advance and ambushing him at the airport for the arrest. **What puzzled many was that Durov, despite knowing he was wanted by France, still proceeded with his flight to France.**

At the core of the incident lies the question: to what extent should social media platforms be held responsible for illegal activities occurring on their platforms? Especially considering Durov's long-standing claim of Telegram's neutrality and freedom of speech.

The #FreePavel tag quickly spread online, even catching the attention of CEO Elon Musk of X company, who posted multiple messages about Durov's arrest. On Saturday night, Musk responded to a post about the detention of the CEO of Telegram by writing: "POV: It's Europe in 2030, and you're executed for liking a meme."

**Sun Yuchen, the master of riding the trend, the master of hype, and the one who plays with Buffett, once again brought out his "ancestral one million."** In a recent tweet, he expressed support for Durov and stated his willingness to personally contribute $1 million to establish a decentralized fund, with the tagline "FreePavel DAO."

He also didn't forget to "friendly remind" Elon Musk and Mario Nawfal to join this idea.
