# Microsoft CTO predicts: "Disruptive" AI products will soon emerge

According to the financial news app Zhitong Finance, on Tuesday afternoon, Kevin Scott, Chief Technology Officer of Microsoft (MSFT.US), hinted during an interview at a technical exchange conference hosted by Goldman Sachs that an important new artificial intelligence model or product will be unveiled by the end of the year.

Although he mentioned that he couldn't disclose specific details, he may have provided some clues. He said, "Something big is about to happen, and it will be very obvious to those looking for signs of progress. Look at the work done from GPT2 to GPT4. I just want to say that the work on GPT4 has not stopped."

He further emphasized the importance of Microsoft's relationship with OpenAI (the creators of Chat-GPT), stating, "I think, by any objective measure, OpenAI is one of the most important partners Microsoft has ever had, and Microsoft has some very good partners as well."

He added, "I don't think we are experiencing diminishing returns. We are making progress. If you infer that something disruptive is on the horizon, that idea is not wrong."

The rise of artificial intelligence is still in its early stages. Scott stated, "I encourage people not to get carried away by the hype, but artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly powerful. All of us working at the forefront can see that there is a lot of power and capability waiting to be built."

While the AI revolution shares similarities with previous technological breakthroughs such as the emergence of the internet and smartphones, this time is different, at least in terms of construction, "All of this may happen faster than what we have seen in previous revolutions," Scott said.

Scott believes that the speed of data center construction by all parties using these centers is happening at an astonishing pace, "Things like this usually progress slowly, but not this time." "Everyone in the ecosystem is moving forward at an unprecedented speed."

Furthermore, he mentioned, "So far, the demand for infrastructure has far exceeded our supply capacity, even though we are building at an unprecedented speed."
