# U.S. Stock Market News | SMIC Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation opened significantly higher, rising more than 10%. Today, the semiconductor sector in the Hong Kong stock market once saw an increase of over 50%

According to Zhitong Finance, on Friday's opening of the US stock market, ACM Research (ACMR.US) opened significantly higher by over 10%, and as of the time of publication, it has risen by 10.42% to $20.87, with a trading volume of $55.35 million.

On the news front, the semiconductor sector in the Hong Kong stock market saw an overall increase of over 50% today, ranking first in terms of market gains. Among them, HG SEMI's increase once expanded to over 270%.

CICC stated that with recent stimulus policies from the central government, the Chinese market (A-shares and H-shares) has risen significantly, with the semiconductor and communication sectors experiencing substantial gains. By the end of September 2024, the semiconductor sector index surged by 15.5%. From September 23 to September 30, the average price increase of semiconductor A-share groups and optoelectronic/telecom groups was 37% and 32% respectively. CICC expects opportunities for revaluation in the semiconductor industry. The market momentum may continue in the short term, especially for semiconductor stocks listed in Hong Kong
