# SWIREPROPERTIES: The Taikoo Place redevelopment plan has officially been completed, successfully transforming into Hong Kong's international business district

On November 8th, SWIRE PROPERTIES announced the official completion of the latest phase of the Taikoo Place redevelopment plan. This redevelopment plan commenced in 2014, successfully transforming Taikoo Place into a premier international business district, providing modern office spaces and a range of facilities that promote physical and mental well-being. This phase of the redevelopment plan includes the construction of two Grade A office buildings, each offering one million square feet of floor area, expansive landscaped areas, parks and plazas, as well as a brand-new elevated air-conditioned pedestrian walkway.

That evening, SWIRE PROPERTIES held a celebration at Taikoo Place, officiated by CEO Edward Pang and Don Taylor, Director of Office Business at SWIRE PROPERTIES, to celebrate the official completion of the Taikoo Place redevelopment plan, with over a thousand distinguished guests in attendance.

Edward Pang, CEO of SWIRE PROPERTIES, stated: "This is an important milestone in the development history of Taikoo Place, and we are very proud of it. Quarry Bay holds special significance in the long history of the Swire Group, evolving from the Swire Sugar Factory and Swire Dockyard into a modern international business hub, which reflects our commitment to community building and evolution, as well as our passion and long-term investment in the local community. As Hong Kong solidifies its status as an international financial center, we firmly believe that Taikoo Place will continue to contribute to the economic growth and prosperity of Hong Kong."

Don Taylor, Director of Office Business at SWIRE PROPERTIES, said: "The official completion of the redevelopment plan marks an important milestone for Taikoo Place to become a thriving and sustainable international business district, and it highlights our commitment to Hong Kong as an international financial center and a gateway to the mainland. Currently, over 200 multinational companies have chosen Taikoo Place as their office location. We provide modern and flexible office spaces, diverse facilities, top-tier ESG certifications, and various activities for tenants to participate in, successfully creating a vibrant ecosystem that makes Taikoo Place the preferred choice for corporate tenants. Looking ahead, we will continue to realize our vision for the Taikoo Place community."

**Key Points of the Taikoo Place Redevelopment Plan:** • Two Grade A office buildings: The three industrial buildings being transformed into a technology center will be rebuilt into two Grade A office buildings—One Taikoo Place and Two Taikoo Place—adding a total of 2 million square feet of high-quality office space, designed with a modern, user-centered approach that prioritizes ESG, employee well-being, and productivity.

The 1880 Hong Kong Club, along with the newly conceptualized 1880 SOCIAL for all tenants, officially opened today. Located in Two Taikoo Place, 1880 spans four floors and offers a unique social experience, including exciting events for Taikoo Place tenants, diverse dining options, thoughtfully designed meeting and event spaces, and a premium gym with spa facilities. As one of Taikoo Place's world-class amenities, 1880 perfectly blends work and leisure, marking a new chapter in the office experience.

• Seamless connectivity: The air-conditioned elevated pedestrian walkway designed by Hugh Dutton Associés connects the two latest Grade A office buildings with the other eight office buildings in Taikoo Place, enhancing the walkability and accessibility of the entire project, significantly improving the visitor experience.

• Diverse dining options: Taikoo Place features over 40 restaurants, including a new al fresco dining option located in the Taikoo Place atrium, offering concepts and cuisines at various price points.

• Green spaces: Taikoo Central Plaza and Taikoo Garden provide a total of 70,000 square feet of lush landscaping, water features, and pedestrian pathways, crafted by the award-winning landscape design firm Gustafson Porter + Bowman. The two gardens are home to over 260 species of native and exotic plants, contributing to the urban biodiversity of Taikoo Place.

• Certifications and accolades: One Taikoo Place and Two Taikoo Place have both received the highest certifications from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), WELL Building Standard, and Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM Plus). One Taikoo Place is the first and only property development project in Hong Kong to receive the Gold rating under the LEED Community Certification program, while Two Taikoo Place recently won the "2024 Asia Pacific Excellence Award" from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is among the first buildings in Hong Kong to simultaneously receive WiredScore and SmartScore "Platinum" certifications
SWIRE PROPERTIES is actively planning a series of exciting activities throughout the year for tenants at Taikoo Place to enhance their physical and mental well-being and sense of belonging. Recent events include the "Tatler Champagne Festival" and the "Corporate Wellness 8-Hour Charity Bike Race." The annual Sugar Street Market will return to Taikoo Place later this month, while the flagship event "White Christmas Market" for youth empowerment and community festivities will be held in December. In addition, the company will continue to support tenants in achieving sustainability goals through collaborative programs such as the "Environmental Performance Charter" and "Green Kitchen."
