# Trip.com indicates that Hong Kong residents' budget for Spring Festival travel has increased by double digits, with bookings for Premium Economy seats rising by 1.3 times

Trip.com Hong Kong and Taiwan Region Product and Marketing Director and Hong Kong Regional Manager, Ye Chuo Ming

Ye Chuo Ming, Product and Marketing Director for Trip.com in the Hong Kong and Taiwan region under Trip.com Group (9961), stated that during the Lunar New Year period from January 25 to February 2 this year, outbound flight bookings by Hong Kong residents increased by 70% year-on-year. The top destinations for Hong Kong travelers are Japan, Mainland China, Thailand, Taiwan, and South Korea, with travelers' average outbound budget showing double-digit growth year-on-year.

## Japan, China, and Thailand Become Top Outbound Destinations

Ye Chuo Ming noted that during this Lunar New Year period, the number of bookings for Premium Economy seats by Hong Kong residents increased by 1.3 times year-on-year, with over half being short-haul trips. Additionally, train ticket bookings increased by 40% year-on-year, with the top five Greater Bay Area destinations being Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, and Foshan.

## Thailand Travel Bookings Not Affected

Recently, concerns have been raised regarding travel safety in Thailand. Ye Chuo Ming indicated that, for now, the booking situation on the platform has not been affected, and bookings for the Lunar New Year are similar to last year
