# Trump: May impose tariffs of around 25% on automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and chips

According to CCTV News, on February 18 local time, U.S. President Trump stated that he would impose a tariff of around 25% on imported cars, and he will make more statements on this topic on April 2.

CCTV reported that last Friday, Trump had previewed the imposition of tariffs on cars. On February 14 local time, Trump stated that tariffs on imported cars would be imposed as early as April 2.
