# The Japanese yen has risen more than 1.9% this week, breaking through 145 before the release of the U.S. non-farm payroll report

On Friday (April 4, Non-Farm Payroll Day) in New York's late trading, the US dollar rose 0.61% against the Japanese yen, reporting 146.96 yen, with a cumulative decline of 1.92% this week. From Monday to Wednesday, it fluctuated narrowly around 150 yen—after the US stock market closed on Wednesday, it rose to 150.49 yen, then plummeted on Thursday, and by Friday at 19:12 Beijing time (before the Non-Farm Employment Report was released), it fell to 144.56 yen, approaching the bottom of 143.43 yen on October 2, 2024, and the bottom of 139.58 yen on September 16 of that year, before recovering slightly.

The euro fell 0.23% against the yen, reporting 161.07 yen, with a cumulative decline of 0.70% this week; the British pound fell 0.97% against the yen, reporting 189.499 yen, with a cumulative decline of 2.28% this week
