# August 20th Midday Review: ChiNext Index fell 1.71% in half a day, with many high-profile stocks experiencing significant declines

The market experienced fluctuations and differentiation in the morning, with the ChiNext index leading the decline. Consumer stocks such as liquor and food showed strength against the trend, with JGJC hitting a two-day limit and QUANJUDE reaching the daily limit. The consumer electronics sector saw a midday surge, with Huiwei Technology and Chaoyang Technology hitting the daily limit. On the downside, several high-profile stocks experienced significant declines, with DaZhiHui and HuaShengTianCheng among the previously strong stocks hitting the daily limit.
