埃及石油和矿产资源部 9 月 8 日宣布，埃及天然气控股公司与英国石油公司当天签署一份谅解备忘录，计划在地中海钻探五口新的天然气井。据路透社报道，这份文件签署正值埃及政府努力提高油气产量之际。报道说，本次签署的项目预计明年启动，计划钻探的天然气井深度从 300 米到 1500 米不等。另据《今日埃及》月刊报道，上述项目旨在利用尼罗河三角洲西部地区现有基础设施，加快埃及天然气储量的开采和生产。（新华社）
