# Tesla executive: The price of the new simplified version of Model Y will be "about 10% cheaper"

According to media reports, **on the 7th local time, the manager of Tesla's Berlin factory in Germany stated that the all-new simplified Model Y will be "about 10% cheaper."**

Wallstreetcn previously mentioned that in response to the potential impact of the end of the U.S. federal tax credit policy, Tesla is taking proactive measures and plans to launch a more affordable Model Y model.

Related reports indicate that **due to the termination of the U.S. federal tax credit policy of up to $7,500 this month, Tesla is launching this cheaper model to offset this impact, which will reduce some functional configurations and use fewer high-end materials.**

This move comes at a critical time when Tesla is facing uncertainty in future demand. Although the company achieved record delivery volumes in the third quarter, this performance was partly due to the "buying rush" before the expiration of the tax credit policy.

This advance release of demand may put pressure on sales growth in the coming months, and the launch of a cheaper model is Tesla's strategy to smooth this transition
