# HSBC expects gold prices to reach $5,000 per ounce next year

HSBC predicted on Friday that the rising risks and increased investor demand will drive gold prices to $5,000 per ounce next year in a bull market.

The report noted that the average gold price forecast for this year was raised from the previous $3,355 per ounce to $3,455; the forecast for next year was raised from $3,950 to $4,600, primarily due to geopolitical risks, economic policy uncertainty, and rising public debt being important factors supporting gold prices
