# The Dow closed above 47,000 points, a historic first

This week, the S&P 500 Index has risen approximately 2%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has increased about 2.2%, the Nasdaq has gained around 2.4%, the Nasdaq 100 Index has risen about 2.2%, the Seven Giants Index has increased by 2.5%, and the Meme Stock Index has surged by 6%.

On the day the U.S. CPI was released on Friday, the S&P 500 Index initially closed at

%, with the technology, telecommunications, utilities, and financial sectors each rising at least about 1%, while the energy sector fell by 0.9%.

The Nasdaq 100 Index initially closed at

%, with component stocks such as AMD rising by 7.6%, nuclear power stock CEG increasing by 6.3%, Micron Technology rising by 6%, and Honeywell, ADI, Microchip Technology, Baker Hughes, Tesla, and TTD declining by up to 3.7%.

IBM rose by 8%, Goldman Sachs increased by 4.4%, and Nvidia, JP Morgan, and Amazon each rose at least 1.5%, leading the Dow Jones component stocks
