# Russian Deputy Prime Minister: 11 out of 13 "abandoned" car factories in Russia have resumed production

Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov stated that nearly all of the automobile factories left behind by foreign automakers exiting the Russian market have resumed production.

According to Manturov, as of today, 11 out of 13 automobile factories have fully resumed production, with the remaining two scheduled to start in 2026.

Manturov emphasized that these factories are systematically filling the market gaps left by the exit of Western brands. He cited the Volkswagen Kaluga plant as an example, which now produces the Russian brand Tenet vehicles and has a complete production cycle including welding and painting. Rusol is also quickly transforming idle capacity for the production of its own models
