A reporter asked about the recent APEC Leaders' Meeting reaffirming the goal of promoting regional economic integration through the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is one of the pathways to achieve the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area. We have noticed that China is advancing the process of joining the CPTPP. What impact will China's accession have on the agreement and the world? Ministry of Commerce spokesperson He Yadong responded that the Chinese government attaches great importance to and actively promotes the relevant work of joining the CPTPP. In the context of severe impacts from unilateralism and protectionism on the international economic and trade order, if China joins the CPTPP, it will play a greater role in maintaining multilateralism and free trade. Recently, two Chinese research institutions, the Development Research Center of the State Council and a research team from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, analyzed and calculated the macroeconomic impact of China's accession to the CPTPP. The results show that China's accession to the CPTPP will bring economic dividends to all members, regional cooperation, and even the global economy, achieving mutual benefits and a win-win situation. Research indicates that China's vast market will provide greater development space for members. After China's accession, the influence of the CPTPP on a global scale will be significantly enhanced. The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences team estimates that China's accession to the CPTPP will drive member GDP growth between 0.2% and 1.1%, with export growth ranging from 2.5% to 11.8%. It will also promote the formation of a larger and more closely-knit production and supply chain system within the region, benefiting the breadth, depth, and convenience of industrial cooperation, and providing new growth opportunities for members' oil, agriculture, education services, and other industries. The Development Research Center team estimates that China's accession to the CPTPP will boost global real GDP growth by 0.2% and trade volume by 2.8%. He Yadong stated that China will unswervingly expand high-level opening-up. We hope that all CPTPP members can fully understand the positive significance of China's accession and work together with China to accelerate the process of joining, injecting greater momentum into the economic integration of the Asia-Pacific region and the construction of an open world economy ## 相关资讯与研究 - [UK's GDP expands 1% Y/Y in Q4](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/281134589.md) - [BJP trying to add illegal voters in Bengal electoral rolls, says Mamata](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/281145942.md) - [Saputo Adds Veteran Transformation Executive Linda Mantia to Board](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/280662806.md) - [09:06 ETInc.
