# Sales of high-rated bonds in the United States have surpassed the total supply for 2024, reaching the second highest level in history

As of 2025, the issuance of U.S. investment-grade corporate bonds has reached $1.499 trillion, marking the second-highest level ever recorded—only behind the $1.75 trillion level in 2020. Companies are taking advantage of lower borrowing costs to refinance debt, fund acquisitions, and invest in artificial intelligence (AI) projects.

This year has been a record-breaking year for global bond issuance, reaching $6 trillion for the first time. The issuance of high-rated bonds in the U.S. has also accelerated recently, setting a record in October, partly due to Meta Platforms Inc.'s $30 billion deal, which is the largest investment-grade transaction in over two years. Wall Street traders' preliminary forecasts for 2026 indicate that the issuance of investment-grade bonds will exceed last year's pace
