# Report: BP PLC is actively negotiating with Stonepeak to sell Castrol

According to two informed sources, BP PLC (BP.L) is actively negotiating with investment firm Stonepeak regarding the sale of its Castrol lubricants business, which will be an important step for the energy company to achieve its $20 billion asset divestment target. Stonepeak and private equity firm One Rock both submitted bids for the division in September. Analysts at Royal Bank of Canada stated that market expectations for the sale of Castrol have recently been around $8 billion. (Reuters)
