# Toyota Motor has confirmed it will invest up to $10 billion in the United States

Toyota Motor Company has confirmed that it will invest up to $10 billion in the United States over the next five years to promote its business development locally. Just less than a month ago, U.S. President Donald Trump mentioned that this Japanese automaker plans to make such an investment. During Trump's visit to Japan last month, he spoke about Toyota's plans to build factories across the United States, with a total investment exceeding $10 billion; at that time, Toyota did not confirm the plan and stated that it was purely speculation. Toyota's latest statement has finally lifted the veil on this matter. Toyota did not provide more details on how the funds would be used. Toyota's U.S. sales chief David Christ stated that this will be announced later. Christ told reporters at the inauguration ceremony of a new battery plant in North Carolina on Wednesday, "As the investment approaches, we will announce the $10 billion investment plan."
