# The impact of Trump's tariffs has led to a contraction in Japan's GDP

Data released by the Japanese government on Monday showed that Japan's GDP fell by 1.8% year-on-year in the third quarter of this year (July to September), due to a significant decline in exports caused by U.S. President Trump's tariff policy.
